About the Interview & Interviewers

To help ease the stress of the interview, we want to give you a brief overview of what to expect for the day and specifically share with you the structure and composition of the interview team. Please note, as to not disrupt class for our current students, the student panel will be held at 5:30pm during the week of your scheduled interview day.

  • The Interview

The interview consists of two 15-minute stations where you will be asked two behavioral-based questions. There is no right or wrong answer when responding to these types of questions. The interview does not permit the candidate to share why he or she wishes to become a veterinarian. This was provided in the candidate’s VMCAS essay. Instead, the interview is intended to determine whether or not the candidate is a good fit for our rigorous, problem-based learning curriculum. To learn more about what the program seeks in an ideal DVM student please visit the Competitive Candidate profile.

  • The Interview Team

You can expect to be interviewed by two teams of two, comprised of faculty, alumni and/or clinicians. The interview will serve as an opportunity for you to demonstrate qualities that could not be fully assessed by your application alone. The intent of the interviewers will be to determine your compatibility with our program. To learn more about our faculty please visit the college’s faculty and staff page.
